We get questions!

  • Do winners have to pay taxes or fees of any kind?

    • NO! Our vendors are responsible for all fees/taxes associated with their gifted service or products! However, should you decide to upgrade (add guests, increase any vendor’s budget, etc.) then you would be responsible for this overage and any tax or service fee, delivery fees, setup fees, etc. Our vendors are making some pretty great promises, there should be no reason to upgrade!

  • Will we be able to pick out anything for our day or do your vendors have final say on design aspects of the event?

    • Of course you can!! You will be given a specific budget to work within in accordance with each individual vendor. You have control over cake design and flavors, floral choices, dinner menu, linen colors, theme choices, invitation design, flow of ceremony and reception.

  • Do we have to use your vendors?

    • Yes. Our vendors have volunteered their services and products and they are the best in the area (I’m a bit biased, and think they are the best in the state!). You won’t want to use anyone else once you meet our people!

  • Can we change the chosen date?

    • No. The date has been placed on all vendor’s calendars and it would be a major undertaking to find a date that they would all be able to agree on AND match your preference. If you know the date will not be doable for you and your fiancé, please do not submit. It’s unfair to the other contestants

  • My fiancé and I are not 23 years old, are we still able to submit?

    • As long as the First Responder will reach that age PRIOR to wedding date, you are welcome to submit.

  • I have submitted in the past, but did not win. May I reapply?

    • As long as you meet all eligibility requirements, you are welcome to submit for review!

  • We don’t have a clue what to write in our letter…what do we say? What is the committee looking for?

    • Although we do have a bit of a criteria up front, we mainly are looking for information on how you met, why the first responder chose the profession and/or why their partner stays in such a crazy life. What are you fears, aspirations? What are your families like? Do they support you? The letter is simply the first step…there will be phone calls, emails and texts to pry additional information out of you in order to know you deserve this above the other contestants. We love and respect all first responders and their families, and honestly hate using the term “winners”…but one of the submitters will stand out above the others --- we won’t know until we read your letters and talk to you! Write from the heart…….its supposed to be a love story, remember?

  • I am active duty military first responder, am I eligible?

    • Not at this time, although we have this position under consideration for 2017. Stay tuned!

  • I am a volunteer, am I eligible?

    • No, only active duty are eligible. We do appreciate that you are unpaid and still putting yourself in harm’s way, but for now..only active are eligible.

  • Who will see my love letter?

    • Only the judging committee will see the letters. They are never placed in public view.
